Project Life Tuesday on Wednesday!

I have been so busy preparing for my new classroom that I have let my PL go a little bit.  Thankfully it is a great project that you can quickly catch up on:)  But, you all already knew that because I have said it a couple hundred times!

So, I am a little behind like I said so I have two weeks to share with you today.

June 1-7 and June 8-14.

First is June 1-7

This the week that Chris lost his maternal grandma so we didn't take many pictures this week.  In fact I didn't take barely any at all. Kendall was also running a very high fever this week.  So, this week's layout is very simply done!
I used a card from the funeral home in my album and then wrote a little about Chris's grandma.
You will notice that I had to use a piece of scrapbook paper in one slot because I didn't have enough pictures.  I love it and I am definitely OK with it!

The next week is June 8-14. I didn't have many pictures this week either and I am OK with that....here is my layout for that week as well!!
I love adding thickers to my pictures and I also love the Smash book Washi tape!!
I loved being able to use the design on the scrapbook paper instead of adding any embellishments with the instagram picture at the top!

I hope you enjoyed looking at my layouts and I hope that I will get to start blogging here when things start settling down and we get back into our routine of things!!  I also hope to be caught up with PL this week as well!  We shall see!

Happy Wednesday everyone!!

Make it Monday: Where are We!?

Since moving to a new school I have learned that every school has such different routines and rituals.  I am very fortunate that one of my very best friends works at my new school and can show me around and teach me all those routines!

So, I noticed outside of everyone's doors there was a sign stating where they were if they weren't in there room!  So, I thought I better make one of those!!  So, here is what I came up with...oh I should say that a girl at school made one quite similar and said she found it on Pinterest. I have yet to find it on Pinterest, but if you see it please let me know so I can give credit!!

First, I took a piece of Zebra print paper and yellow paper and glued them together to make it a little stronger!  Then I cut the letters out with my cricut (Cuttin Up) and the circles out with my cricut (George and Basic Shapes)  I glued it all down and wrote on the circles as to where we may go.  I left one blank just in case and we can just put a post it on that if we go somewhere not listed!

I love the way this turned out!  I took a big purple paper clip and made the clip that we will use to show where we are!
I sent a picture of it to Michelle and she said she would pay me or feed me to make her one! Of course I said she didn't have to do anything but I prefer food:)  So, her theme is black, yellow, and white and here is her's minus a paper clip!

I have had so much fun linking up at 4th Grade Frolics!!  I hope to get a lot more done tomorrow on my room!!  Will keep you posted and I sure hope I am not boring my non teaching friends:))

The Countdown has Begun

I can't believe that we have been out of school for 9 weeks now and we have a week and a few days left until we return to the 2012-2013 school year!!  Doesn't seem possible.

I have been working and working on my classroom trying to get it ready to go. I thought I would share a few sneak peeks and then hope to share a lot more next week when it is all put together!!!

Here are the pennants that will hang above my tables!!!  I think they turned out pretty cute!
They will hang on a piece of string under the lanterns...to do next week:)  Here is my room so far.  I decided that I would make groups of four in my room so that they aren't in such big groups.  I am sure once I get kids in my room I will find that I need to change things up a little bit, but we will see when that time comes!
I LOVE this little table I got from Bed Bath and Beyond.  I paid 7 dollars for it because I had coupons and a little bit on a gift card from when we got married!!
And my desk area is coming along as well. I try not to take up a lot of room with my desk only because I never sit there!  So, I like for it to be useful in the classroom without taking up useful space!

And that is my room so far...I can't wait to get it all together!  I have been working like crazy today trying to get my book baskets ready to take to school.  Just hoping I can get that big project taken care of this weekend!!  I'll keep you posted:)

Have a great weekend!

A Zebra Themed Classroom!

I think I have mentioned enough times that I am doing my classroom in a zebra theme with bright colors!!  I have stopped limiting my bright colors because I keep adding!  Right now I am using bright green, orange, pink, blue, and some yellow!

Today I was browsing the internet looking for some tags and banners.  I decided to try to make my own tags and here is what I came up with so far!

The name tags will go on the back of the kids cubbies so they know whose is whose!

The table tags are going to hang from banners above the groups of desks!  I am so excited to get them printed out and get the banner together. I will definitely post a picture when they are done:)

After creating all 6 table tags I put them into a collage and printed them onto cardstock!!

If you are interested in my tags I would be more than happy to send them to you, if you can tell me how to do it so that you can use them:)

Blog Failure

I have been a total blog failure this summer, but I am alright with because we have been having a lot of fun around here and have had a lot of lazy summer days which is fine by me:)

So, I thought I would just make a couple of bulleted reminders for myself so I can maybe check some things off my to do list:)

*Get the rest of my stuff into my classroom!  I went yesterday and got a few things done, but I have sooo much more to do, like so much.  They forgot that my classroom was being used this year and didn't clean or wax it so I have to go back again on Thursday to try to get a few more things done.

*Reorganize my classroom book library.  Since I am moving to fourth grade this is going to look quite different so it's something I plan on working on tonight actually!

*Decorate my classroom.  My theme this year is zebra, pink, green, and blue.  I need to get on it!!  It's happening soon:)

*Make the curtains for my kitchen...have had the fabric forever just haven't sat down to do the actual sewing just yet:)

*Yeah remember This List of things I wanted to accomplish this summer??  Well I have less than 3 weeks left and still a lot of things on that list!!  Gotta get my bottom in gear:)

*Catch up on PL...yeah I know I wasn't gonna get behind again and then I did..I think this has quite possibly been the absolute craziest summer we have had!

Most importantly...ENJOY the last few weeks of summer vacation...I can't believe they are almost over...makes me soooo sad, excited, scared, nervous, all rolled into one:)

I'll leave you with the ONLY picture I have of me and my BFF, Jess at her wedding...can you believe it!!!???  We had a blast and I didn't carry my camera around...the memories will never leave my head!!

Going to miss all of these girls next school year:(

Have a great week!

Make it Monday: On Wednesday:)

First, I must say WOW!! I am so excited that you all loved my containers so much! I can't believe how many pins they got on Pinterest!!!  I have been pinned!!!  So, thank you:)  I have gotten a few questions about where I got my containers.  I bought them last winter on closeout at the container store:(  I paid almost nothing for them.  I have searched the web a little looking for something similar, but haven't found it yet.  If I find something I will be sure to let you know!!

And welcome to all my new followers!! I hope I don't bore you too much and you will stick around:)

I am so excited to see my new classroom FINALLY on Monday! I can't wait to share it with ya'll.

WE just got home from a week and a few days in Hilton Head Island and we had SO much fun!  I will share all of our fun with  you soon....But, on to why ya'll are here!!

This week I made two little fun goodies for my room.  They weren't near as fun as the candy containers but......here goes.....

First, I made these buckets to put pencils in.  I really don't like for kids to sharpen pencils throughout the day.  So, I will be sure to have plenty of sharp pencils in these buckets every morning.  Now that I am moving to fourth I will probably give that job to a late bus rider or a helper:)  I used my Cricut to cut out the vinyl letters (with Cuttin' Up)  And I just tied ribbon to the end of the handles! Easy as can be:)

As you can tell two of these are still a work in progress...the cardboard just soaks up that paint!!!

Secondly,  I have had these magazine holders for years now and have done nothing to them. I decided to paint them all of my fun colors, but am still at a loss for what I will do with them.  I made these fun little tags with my Cricut (Tags, bags, boxes, and more)  and just used a glue dot to adhere them.  I thought about using them for magazines, but I am not yet sold on that idea.  Any other ideas you have for how you use them please let me a comment so I can decide what I want to do with them!!!

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to visit 4th Grade Frolics for other fun and creative classroom ideas!!!
