A New Year!

I have never been big on celebrating the new year.  I don't know why, it's not that I don't like the new or that I have feelings about it either way....but, we have a low key night planned.  We are going to my favorite restaurant Sake Blue and then will just hang out with Kendall.

I am not making any new years resolutions, but I thought I would share some of my goals:)

-Stay up to date on my Project Life.  I got way, way behind this year when we moved.  Like six months behind.  Luckily I have had a little break the past two days and was able to catch up to about November.  I have pictures on order and plan to finish the rest of 2012 this week.  I should be able to get it done and I am very proud of how it turned out, but I wish I would have stayed up to date a little.  I feel like I have missed some of the small things because I was so far behind...but here's to trying harder this year:)

-Get moved into our new house and get it organized:)  We plan to move in the end of March or beginning of April.  Just depends on how far behind we get with the weather and such.  Fingers crossed:)  So, when we get moved in I can't wait to start sharing some of the fun organizing ideas I have!!

-Spend a lot of time as a family!  It has been hard the past few months being together as just a family.  We are living with my mother in law so it's just hard to be by ourselves esp when Kendall wants to be with her Mamaw all the time!  I look forward to spending a lot of time together as a family this year!  I would like to take Kendall to do a few different things that I will share soon!

I think three goals for now are good enough.  These are some pretty big goals!  So, we will see how they go!

I hope everyone has a happy and SAFE new years!!!

Here's to 2013:)

Christmas Day

Christmas always seems to go soo fast...I feel like it might be partially to the fact that we are going so fast all day day I am just going to stay home and let Kendall enjoy her toys all day and enjoy ourselves (OK yeah right!)

We always do Christmas with my parents on Christmas Eve.  I got quite a few pictures of Kendall opening her big, big, big stack of presents!!

I didn't take many pictures on Christmas Day...I took a few with my phone of course and Chris video taped Kendall seeing Santa's toys but other than that I just enjoyed the day with my family!

So, enjoy the few pictures that I did take:)

That whole stack was ALL for this spoiled rotten little girl named Kendall!
She played with that highchair in Pottery barn forever so my mom secretly bought it while we were there!

 Yeah for presents!!
Christmas with Tripp!!  She got lots of games and we have had so much fun playing them!

I hope you enjoyed your Christmas!  I know I have said a hundred times, but I can't wait to enjoy our Christmas in our new house next year!!

My Christmas List

I didn't have too many things on my Christmas List, but I just had to share with you what was on my list!!  And what I got:)

Jessica Simpson Perfume.  I am not a big perfume person.  It gives me a headache so when I first smelled this I fell in love and I have been wearing it for years:)  It just smells so good.  Most importantly it is not strong and that's why I love it. I have been scrapping at the bottom of my bottle for months so I was happy to get it!

My red Pandora Bracelet.  I love these leather bands and wanted a red one to go with my black one that I wear all the time!

New black Ugg boots!

Holiday Traditions!

I just thought I would share some of our favorite Holiday Traditions!  I wrote this post at the beginning of December and I just never got around to adding all the pictures so I finally got a chance to add those.  I know I have been gone and I hope to get back to blogging...and I know I have said that hundreds of times:)  But, maybe one day it will be true!

We aren't living in our own home this year for the Holidays, so that is a little different, but these are the traditions that we will do no matter where we are!

Kendall's Avent Calendar!

This year I just put candy in her box and she loved getting it out everyday...oh the simple things:)

St. Nick visited Kendall just like he does every year!  With Minnie's help of course.

The best tradition of all.....our Elf on the Shelf Minnie....we LOVE Minnie, and I can assure you the look on my daughters face every night when Elf moved or did something different was absolutely priceless!  We had a blast with her and found her doing a lot of fun things!  I know there is a bit of controversy out there about this cute little elf, but if it makes my daughter happy that's all that I care about:)  Here are some fun things that Minnie did this year, and I can't wait for us to be in our home next Christmas so that she can do all kinds of other fun things!!
I also created this card for Minnie to bring the last day she came.  I downloaded the card from Becky Higgins Blog and I totally got this idea from Jessica Turner  She made one for her elf to bring her kids and I loved the idea!!

I hope you and your family had a wonderful Holiday season and are excited about the new year:)

Favorites Party and....I am officially losing it!

Ya'll I am totally 100% losing it.....

I am pretty building a house and living in someone else's home is totally sucking the life out of me.  My brain is just gone!

I totally posted our Santa pictures twice in two different posts within two posts of one another....I am quite sure you caught it and I am caught sure you were thinking what is wrong with that girl:) that we got that out of the way, I wanted to share with the favorites party I went to last night!!

My friends and I from high school have been getting together once a month for dinner for the past several months.  I love that we are doing this.  These are the girls I was closest with in high school all at different times.  We have all had our down times in different ways, but I am so lucky and blessed that we have grown up and decided to meet once a month!

So, I wanted to have a favorites party with them because I thought it sounded like lots of fun!!

I made invitations and we decided we would make a budget of less than 10 dollars (which I clearly misprinted on the invitations if you look close enough! ) and we would be each of person our favorites, so five in all.  Sorry it's a terrible Iphone pic...

Here is a picture of all of us!  We have been trying for months to get a good group picture and I think it finally happened last night:)

So, on to the party.  We met at my favorite restaurant, Sake Blue, and had a yummy dinner before we opened gifts.

So, here are all the gifts and who brought them....

Savannah brought us a nail file, buffer, and nail polish  Miss fancy Pants is the name.  I love the polish she chose for us!  It will definitely get some good use:)

Angie brought Scategories and this is one of my favorite games as well!

Ashley brought cute crockpots, which is so funny because we always make fun of her and her crockpots.  Definitely her favorite!

Jackie got us these cute fleur de leis trivets.  Can't wait to use these in our new house!  (I couldn't find a link to this, but it's from bed, bath, and beyond)

And Elisabeth made us these super cute prints.  I was so excited about this gift because I have been looking for a print like this FOREVER!! She should definitely think about opening an etsy shop!!  It's really hard to take a picture of a print in a frame BTW!

This was my favorite. I am obsessed with this lip gloss right now and I have to fight Kendall for it!!

We had a great time and it was so much fun laughing and opening our presents!   I sure hope this is a tradition that last forever!

Have you done a favorites party?  If not I definitely recommend it!

Santa Pictures:)

I am linking up today with Darci today for Santa Picture Fail.  I can't say I consider this a failure though, because I LOVE when babies cry in Santa's arms.  They are the sweetest pictures ever and I hope all of my babies do it:)

Does that make me a mean mom?

Anyways this Christmas Kendall was so excited about seeing Santa, because she wanted her ears pierced, so when she told us it was time we headed to the mall to see that man!

Here was the first take that is of course my favorite!
Then Santa asked Kendall if she could sit in his seat because he needed to go feed his reindeers, and he needed her to keep his seat warm.  So.....
We did it and it turned out soo cute and she didn't even know that Santa was behind her little stinker:)
And we finally got our ears pierced like a big girl:)

Go check out more Santa NOT fail as I like to calling them pictures at Darci's blog!

I have so neglected this blog ever since we decided to put our house on the market, sold it, moved, and are now building.....maybe...just maybe when we finally get moved in our home and get settled...I just might start blogging regularly again:)

So here are a few things that have been going on around here....

Kendall is still doing gymnastics on Monday night and LOVES it!  She is getting so big..I can't believe I almost have a three year...just doesn't seem right!

Are foundation has been poured and they should start framing next Wednesday...I hope that is the case, because I am so ready for this house to be framed, roofed, and bricked:)  It's time to get a move on it!

We have 8 days of school left until Christmas break and I am really looking forward to a nice two week break!! It will be great to relax and do nothing! I am really working hard on getting everything done so that I can do zero school work over break..I always say that and it never happens :)

What I miss most about my own house right now is decorating it...all of my Christmas is packed away except for the few essentials and I am really missing decorating a mantle and all that fun year will be so much fun though:)

Have a great week!

Santa Clause and Earrings

We made our yearly visit to sit on Santa's lap last weekend and this year was no different than any other....

She wasn't a bit fond of this old man!  He was probably the best Santa I have ever seen though...he actually talked to her while I was holding her...stood up and let us know that he had to go feed his reindeer and wanted to know if Kendall could hold his seat while he did so....  So we all sat down and this is what we got!

We did ask Santa if this cute girl could get her ears pierced and he said off we went!

She did great until the ladies actually pierced....took her a few good minutes and a good loud cry and she was over it!!

She LOVES them....mommy not so much..makes her look like such a big girl:(

We are three weeks away from Christmas break..Can't wait for a two week break!

Have a great Monday!

Happy Thanksgiving

I hope you and your families have a had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  We couldn't ask for better weather here in Louisville!  We spent the morning hanging out and getting ready for lunch at my Grandmas!!
Oh my word that little girl looks like a little girl not a baby, not a toddler, a LITTLE girl:(

I shot a few pictures of Kendall before we left and had Teresa shoot a few of us before we left!  Trying to get a good one for our Christmas card and I think I succeeded!!

We have so much to be thankful for and I like to think that we count our blessings all 365 days of the year!

I know I haven't been much of a blogger lately, but I sure hope that I can get caught up soon!  I am also excited to share the book I bought for my December Daily album! I LOVE this tradition and I hope you will join along also!

I can't describe how behind I am on Project life, but I am hoping to use the next few days off to get caught up on it!

And I will leave you with the lastest look on our house building!!!  Can't wait for April:)

Shoo Wee

That was the best title I could come up for this post!!

We are moved out of our house and it is NO longer our house.  We closed on Thursday!

I think this is the first Friday we have just sat and did nothing and it feels weird!

I actually got my Project Life album out, which has been abandoned since July, and just stared at it and put it away:)

And tomorrow we sign the contract on our house and they will start digging and I am so excited...

Now cross your fingers for NO snow and get ready to start seeing our house progress!

Have a great weekend!

Goodbye to our first home, hello to our temporary home, and come on new home!!

WonderStruck and Hugo by: Brian Selznick

I haven't talked much about my new classroom and 4th grade but I have to say that I am in LOVE with fourth grade.  And I didn't know that I would ever say that!

Honestly I really believe that after having a baby of my own, I needed that older grade level! probably didn't click on my blog post unless you are familiar with these books!

My 3rd and 4th graders are in LOVE with these two books.   Guess what?

I haven't read either one and thanks to my kids I am dying to get a hold of a copy of one of the two.  Since they are so popular in my classroom it is not possible to get a hold of them.  I am seriously considering buying them over fall break because they are so darn popular.

The cool thing about these books is they are written in print and pictures.  So one part of the book is written as a chapter book, and the other half which is a different characters story is written in pictures.  You will read a chapter and then have maybe 6-8 pages of pictures and read another...probably makes no sense at all...but the illustrations are amazing!

And did I mention thanks to my kids I am dying to read them!

Do your kids love them?   Do you have any great activities to do with these books?

I will let you know when I read them and what I actually think of them.  Honestly I feel pretty familiar with these books because I have had so many conversations with my kids about them!

Moving Days??

Why does it seem to me that other people move in a day and I feel like we have been moving for weeks......

Guess cause I don't live in those other people's world?

We spent ALL day Saturday packing things up.  We packed up most of Kendall's room....all of the scraproom.....bathrooms.......the basement family room.......and then we took a break for the night..

This morning we woke up and Chris and Brad moved our bed, the couches, all of Kendall's toys, the kitchen chairs, all of the pantry items, Kendall's changing table, and tons more while I packed my whole kitchen, my clothes, Kendall's clothes.....blah, blah, blah

And guess what??

We still aren't done and it will probably take another day or two!

Shoo we are wiped out...
Love this picture of me and my sweet girl before open gym!
We should be closing on Wednesday or Thursday...and we are ready to have this behind us and start on our new house!!

And we got our plans back today finalized and I am so ready for them to break ground!!!

Have a great Monday everyone:)
