Project Life a Little Late!

I am a little behind on sharing project life, but here is my week from LAST week! I am so proud of myself we are offically half way through the year and I have taken a picture EVERY day of the year so far!
I had fun doing a little scrapbooking while Kendall was sleeping tonight! Today was Chris' first father's day. We laid around most of the day. Chris is such a good daddy to Kendall!
We took Kendall, Tripp and Brayden to the pool today! They were so good and had lots of fun:) I used my cricut to dress this plan planner up just a little bit! I like how it turned out simple but fun!
Kendall does not like belly time. I bought her this little caterpillar to help out a little and was able to get her on her belly for a little while tonight!
Kendall has really started to hold on to toys and pay more attention to them as well. She is really concentrating on things more around her and it is so fun to watch:)

I'm not Linking up to Project Life Tuesday because I am a day late:( But I hope you enjoyed our week!

Tomorrow and a trip to the zoo!

Tomorrow: I will post Project Life for my week of June 18-24! I am too tired to do it right now:) Really I am!

Yesterday Kendall went on her first trip to the zoo! We are getting our zoo pass soon so hopefully in the fall we can take her there a little more! Here are a few pictures from our day at the zoo:)
This picture is the reason for THIS post yesterday ha ha!

Tripp was worn out by the time we got to the elephants and Kendall had just woke up!
The sealion exhibit was opened yesterday to member's only. My friend Jen already has her zoo pass so we were able to go in it. It is very nice and I can't wait for the polar bear exhibit to open up next year!

I didn't get to walk today because we went to get an excersaucer for Kendall (I left the 20% off coupon at home, which means I have to go back tomorrow and get it!) I am GOING to walk tomorrow though and I mean it:)

I also wanted to share with you THIS post by one of my favorite blogging friends Julia I love what she has to say in this post about blogging:) I hope you will take a few minutes to visit her blog and read what she says!

My Weight

Nice title huh!?

Sorry there will be no pictures attached to this post I don't think I have any suit for that title ha!

I have got to get my weight under control.

Yes, I know I had a baby three months ago.

I know it takes a while to get that weight off. But, I can wait no longer.

I am tired of not fitting in my clothes.

I am tired of looking like I am three months pregnant STILL.

I am tired of the way I look.

I am tired of the way I feel.

No this is not a pitty me post. I am very much aware of the fact that no one has control over my weight but myself, and I have let it go for too long.

I need to lose 20 pounds. Do I expect to lose it over night?

But, I most definitely need to start today! And I have, well sorta! Today I walked the zoo and then Kendall and I walked again when we got home from the zoo. So, I got my excercise in today. I didn't eat well. Had Chilis and ate way TOO much. (Oh and a blizzard too)

So, what do I plan to do about this weight problem of mine?

Workout (TurboJam and walking)
Start doing better at Weight Watchers
Go to the store and get some healthier food!
STOP eating out as much!

I have never been super skinny, but I have also never weighed what I do today. I know I am being vain and superficial, but I am conscious of my body and my weight. I really think everyone is in some way.

My GOAL: 1 pound a week! That's not too much to ask for is it?

Who is going to hold me to this? Who is going to make me accountable for losing this weight?

I guess the only person that can is me, oh and the bikinis sitting in the drawer. Guess they can hold me accountable as well:)

And if you just read my ranting post why thanks and leave me some words of inspiration:)

Kendall's 3 month birthday!

Yesterday was a fun day for us! It was Kendall's 3 month birthday! We got her pictures taken and shopped at the mall for a bit. I can't believe my baby is already 3 months old. Here are some of the things about her:
She weighs 13 pounds, but she is really long so she carries her weight well haha!
She is wearing 0-3 month clothing.

She loves playing with her hands especially loves having them in her mouth.

She just started paying attention to toys and loves her elephant toy!

She doesn't like doing belly time AT ALL:) But, I actually got her to do it for a few mins. the other day!

We love her more and more everyday and feel so blessed to have her in our lives. We think she is the cutest baby ever and we just adore her!
Hope you all are enjoying your weekend!

Kendall's New Toy

I pulled out another one of Kendall's toys last night and she seemed to really like it! I thought this little pink elephant would be perfect for Kendall to hold in her hands:)

She loved the elephants nose. We thought that was very funny.

She even gave it a little hug.

But she still loves her hands the most:)

What toys do your babies like to play with?

Scrapbooking Your Baby

I have been a scrapbooker since I was in the seventh grade! I didn't do it as much as I do now, but I remember when scraping consisted of cutting a picture with funky scissors, making a wavy line with an invisible pen, writing your story on it, and throwing some stickers on the page and being done with it! I love looking at my old scrapbooking pages and OK laughing at them! Scrapbooking has definitly come a long way and it seems often times we get stuck on all the "material" things out there for scrapbooking. I admit that I am a scrapbooking junkie. I have just about every tool, sticker, paper, pens, and glitter that you can get from Hobby Lobby, which is why I have promised myself I would scrap 30 pages before I bought another piece of scrapbooking materials.

Since I started blogging a year and a half ago, I have been reading Jessica Turner's Blog. She is such an inspiring person to me. She is a loving wife, mother and an amazing scrapbooking. Jessica has reminded me of the importance of scrapbooking in her class Big Picture Scrapbooking: Don't Blink. One of the most important things I have taken away from Jessica's class is the reminder that scrapbooking isn't about the "material" things you can buy to put on your page, but rather the memories in the pictures on the page. Taking the time to write your story in words on your pages is far more important than having the latest scrapbooking technique down.

I am so fortunate that I learned this great piece of advice from Jessica before Kendall was born so that I could be sure to focus on that while scraping her first year. I want Kendall to read the memories I have of her and not just look at all the pretty things on the pages! I want Kendall to cherish her books, which I am sure she will do no matter what they look like:)

I ask all of you to take a little time to remind yourselves of why you scrapbook whether you have children or not. Remember it is suppose to be fun and memorable as well! Don't get caught up in what it looks like, as I use to do, but get caught up in making sure you have gotten the full memory down on paper! Hopefully one day 100 years from now your great, great, great, grandchildren will be looking at these memories and you want them to have a full picture of what it was like to live in our times:)

IF you are a new mom or a mother just getting into scrapbooking you should really consider taking Jessica's Class! It is a great self pace class and I can't give it enough credit in teaching me the importance of scrapbooking my babies first years:) Right now you can get her class for a discount of 20% off by using the code blogblink. I promise it will be well worth your time to take this class!

Thanks for stopping by for Project Life Tuesday! Don't forget to stop by The Mom Creative for:
Friday June 11: Zoey got groomed today. Although I was a little disappointed in her face, she looked so much better. She must feel better too:)
Saturday June 12: We went to an outside wedding tonight and it was incredibly hot! We sweated through the entire thing, but thank goodness the reception was inside! Kendall was so good all night.

Sunday June 13: Teresa and I went to see Legally Blonde the musical today. While we were gone Chris had a little accident. Thank goodness him and Kendall were alright!
Monday June 14: Rachel and her friend Megan came over tonight. I know Kendall is going to adore Rachel when she gets older just like Rachel adores her!
Tuesday June 15: I finally got my scrapbooking room in order! I must keep it this way because it took way too long to get it this organized!
Wednesday June 16: I learned how to do this in photoshop tonight. I even know what it is called: black and white reverse haha!
Thursday June 17: Kendall and I had a pool day today by ourselves! It was so nice and relaxing and she seemed to really enjoy it as well.

Thanks for stopping by!

Why I love my Cricut!

I love my Cricut because I can take this boring little planner:
And these vinyl letters that I cut using my Alphalious Cartridge:
Photobucket Photobucket
And make a not so boring looking planner:

That's one of the many reasons I love my cricut!

Layouts 1-3!

First of all I think I finally figured out how to make my pictures so that you can click on them and make them bigger! I hope it works and I guess we will find out:) I learn something new everyday:) This might make it easier to post pictures as well but we will see!

So, in this post I told you I had way too much scrapbooking stuff and I had to make 30 layouts before I was allowed to buy anything new! Well, last night I made my first three layouts and I really like how they turned out!

My favorite one is the baby hairs layout. Kendall had a ton of baby hair when she was first born. She still has a lot of hair, but poor thing she will probably always have a lot of hair because her mommy and daddy both have a lot of hair.
I used Close to my heart paper and flowers on this layout. The letters are thickers that I mix matched because I didn't have all the letters in one set! I think it's fun and cute to mixmatch the letters though!
I love this layout of the first time I held Kendall. I couldn't take my eyes off her! Everything on this layout, including the paper, is from the Becky Higgins Sweet Baby kit. I love this kit:)
The last layout is a few baby pictures of Kendall in the hospital. My sweet neighbor whom I didn't even know was a scrapbooker bought me a load of scraping stuff when Kendall was born. One of the things she got me was a baby kit. I don't know who it i s by, but these stickers were in that kit. I thought they were really cute:)

Let me know if you can click on my pictures to make them bigger. Sorry the pictures are not very good quality. I meant to get outside today to take the pictures but it was SO hot and I napped with Kendall today so I never got the chance to do so:)

Hope your enjoying your weekend and everyone has a great Father's day tomorrow!

A Pool Day!

Yesterday I took Kendall for a pool day. This was the second time I tried to do this and I learned a few things from my first experience:)
First: Get her ready BEFORE we go to the pool. I put her bathing suit on, put her shirt on, and sunscreen all at home. That way we could go straight to the pool and not in my mother-in-laws house to get ready.
Second: Get myself ready at home. I put my bathing suit on at home and got my sunscreen on as well:) Makes it a lot easier when Kendall can watch the TV while I'm getting ready.
Third: Take my time! I can no longer rush out the door to get somewhere. I should now expect it to take me a good thirty minutes longer than before I had Kendall. I knew I wanted to go to the pool, but I put no expectations on what time I would get there so I didn't feel rushed!
Lastly: Enjoy the time with her! And go with the flow! She will let me know when she doesn't want to be in the pool. She laughed and cooed the whole time we were there.
Yesterday was the first day she really started cooing. She has made small sounds here and there, but she has been talking ALL day today! I love it. Ha we mute the TV when she starts cooing. I am sure in a few years we will be turning the TV up to mute her lol!
But for now we enjoy EVERY moment with this sweet baby girl.
Have a great weekend:)

Photoshop 101...Where is it?

I learned something today about Photoshop Elements 8 and I am very excited about it! I have been wanting to do black and white reverse on my photos for a LONG time! I didn't even know that was what it was called. I just wanted to be able to take a picture make it black and white except for one or two colors! And I figured it out today:)

When I was at IUS getting my masters I took a computer class. In that class the teacher informed us that we could download and have Photoshop for FREE! Yes all parts of it were available to students for free! One of the many things I guess our tuition paid for:) I never knew this until I was very close to graduating. Thank goodness I found out because I use it for my pictures all the time.

Unfortunately I don't have a manuel for it because I did download it. (Chris told me I should be able to find one online, which I am going to look for tonight!) Well, Chris bought me Photoshop as a surprise yesterday not realizing that it was what I had on the computer already. I was looking at the box and saw the reverse black and white and started exploring photoshop until I FINALLY found it!

Can you tell I am excited? I am sure there are millions of things Photoshop can do that I have yet to learn! I wish I could find a class on it, because I would for sure take it:)

I am sure if you looked closely at my pictures you would see a few flaws, but these were the first two that I did and I did them quickly because I was so excited to show Chris:)

Do you have photoshop? Do you know much about it? (I may need to hire you if you do!)

Organizing Scrap Room Part 1

I am just about finished organizing my scrapbooking room. I have been working on it the past few nights when Kendall goes to bed. I really want to get it finished so that I can start working on her book. I think I am about there.

So this was the before picture! So ALL that stuff everywhere haha! Chris says you must first make a mess to clean a mess lol! Here is where I am at now! Looking better ya think? I sure do. It has taken me a while, but I am surely getting there. I am very excited about it too:)I wish I had taken a before shot of this, but I didn't. The bottom shelf is a basket of things I want to alter/make. The shelf above that has photo albums/small scrapbooks, the little shelf has magazines and notebooks, and the top shelf is all of my scrapbooks:) I am pleased with how this turned out as well.I love these little buckets from Targets dollar section. I seperated my pens and pencils and these buckets so that I am not always scrapping for one. The plastic cotainers to the left have all of my adhesives in it.

It's taking me a while to get organized, but it will be so worth it because I will utilize my scrapbooking stuff much more and I now know what I have, which by the way I found lots of things I won't ever use and I hope to do a giveaway soon:)

Do you like to organize?
