I Love Santa

Kendall was not a fan of Santa as you can see:) I still thought it was the cutest thing ever!

We have been extremely busy around here getting things ready for the Holidays, shopping, playing with our cutie and just working!

Hope you are enjoying your Holiday Season! It's cold, wet, and snowy here!

Saturday, November 27, 2010

Wow...it's been a while since I have blogged. Didn't realize it had been so long:)
I can't believe the Holiday season is upon us already, but I LOVE this time of year!
We had a great Thanksgiving and enjoy great food with both of our families.

This year we have a lot to be thankful most importantly a sweet, healthy and happy baby girl who is already 8 months old! Wow time flies. We are so fortunate to have a happy healthy and growing little girl and I am thankful for that everyday out of the year not just Thanksgiving.

I am also thankful for my family. I have a great family and am very lucky to have two sets of living adn for the most part healthy grandparents. Kendall is fortunate to have two sets of great grandparents and a great great grandma still aorund. On Thanksgiving we took a five generations picture I will share it once I have uploaded it and edited it:)

Here is my turkey this week!
And I thought I would share this as well. Just a few weeks ago Kendall was enjoying her saucer.

And now we have taken it apart and she enjoys standing around it and playing with the toys. She is crawling ALL over the place and I am sure she will be walking before we know it! I. AM. NOT. READY. for that!
Chris did Black Friday shopping with Brad and I stayed home with Kendall. He got all of Kendall's Christmas shopping done. She is one lucky little girl:)

Kendall has had a temperature all day so hopefully it's just a tooth trying to come through! Hope you have enjoyed your weekend:)

Project Life: Oct-22-28

Only ten more weeks of this years Project Life. I just can't believe how fast the time goes by. I hope you all enjoyed Halloween weekend. I will try soon to get a post up of our busy weekend we had!
Enjoy this week's life in our world:) October 22: Kendall and I went to eat with her GREAT, GREAT grandma! I love this shot of thier hands. We will be getting a five generations picture on Thanksgiving Day:)
Oct 23: I had fun making Kendall more hairbows. Like she doesn't already have enough:)

Oct 24: Only 7 months old and already has her own Coach purse (NOT REALLY!) Daddy's in trouble!
Oct. 25 Wow how time flies. Kendall is already 7 months old and I can't believe it!
Oct 26: Kendall slept on me most of the night last night which is very, very rare. I knew something wasn't right. So this morning as soon as I could I got her a doctor's appointment. Thankfully it was at 2 because we had tornadoes in the area at noon. Sure enough I was right and she had a double ear infection. Our first time being sick:( Wish I could be sick for her!
Oct: 27: Such a big girl who loves her mommy. I hope she always stays a mommy's girl:) You can still tell in her eyes she doesn't feel good even with that big smile on her face:(

This is a typical view of her basement living room. It ahs been taken over by Kendall's things!
Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to visit The Mom Creative for more project life photos!

Little Monsters

I so adore Halloween Scrapbook paper and I absolutely love this echo park paper that I ordered from Sammye Jo and if you haven't checked out her blog yet you must because she is quite talented!

Jen and I took Tripp and Kendall to get their pictures taken while Chris and Brad were both out of town. We loved these little monster outfits so we knew that's what we would put them in. Even thougth it was SO hot outside when we got the pictures taken.

Here is my layout using an 8X10 picture. It seems to be when you get pictures taken by a photographer you get TONS of 8X10 pages in which you don't have nearly enough frames for. I hate for them to sit in the photo envelope to never be seen again don't you? So I thought it would be nice to include some of these in Kendall's scrapbook album.

What do you think?

Would you use an 8X10 picture in an album?

I love that the picture takes up the majority of the page and I just add a few simple embellishments to the page.

If you have 8X10 pictures sitting in envelopes with no where else to go try scrapbooking them! What a great way to save those memories so that they can still be seen in some way:)

Thanks for stopping by:)

Project Life Tuesday: Oct 15-21

I can't believe that October is already almost over and I really can't believe that Christmas is SO close....wow...how time flies.

I am proud to say that I am all caught up on project life except for maybe two weeks of picture editing..I have all of my journal cards up to date and I have all my journal cards in my book for the year:) Very proud of myself I have to say...And I may have missed maybe 2-3 pictures for the whole year which I believe to be REALLY good:)

Enjoy our week!!

It was chilly this mornign so I put Kendall in this cute little jacket we got her! We were sure glad it was Friday:)

Chris played in a softball tournment in Indiana and it got pretty cold. This is what Kendall looked like when we finally got home:)

Kendall's hair is starting to get long enough to put barrettes in it! I think it is so cute.

Tonight I froze 36 ounces of milk! I am so proud of how far I have made it with Kendall and nursing:)
From Iphone! I love this sweet picture of Kendall. She looks so grown up sitting here watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (her fav!). She really is getting so big and a little more independent everyday. It's amazing how time flies and babies grow up:) Oh and she loves to be without any clothing on her legs and feet:)

Tonight Kendall thought she would help me while I cleaned out my purse! Looks like Mrs. Thing knows what that card will get her:)

Today was the first day of fall break! I know it will go by fast so I am trying to enjoy every minute of it! Kendall loved napping in the basement on the floor today and I think Zoey enjoyed it as well!
Don't forget to stop by The Mom Creative for some more great pictures!!

Teaching TIp: Organizing Letter Tiles

I would say that Organization is a KEY ingredient to being a teacher. Am an expert at it? Absoloutely not, but I sure work my bottom off to keep my classroom as organized as possible. And I thought it might be fun to share with you some of my organization ideas in my classroom.
One reason organization is so important in my classroom is I am a Kindergarten AND first grade teacher. I feel that I need to know where everything is in my room so that I can access it QUICKLY and EASILY. If I am teaching a lesson and have to constantly stop to find something I lose my little ones and then my lesson turns into a nightmare (I do KNOW this because I have experienced it before!) Organization is also a time and classroom management tool for me.
The first tip I would like to share with you is how I organize my letter tiles. Because I teach early childhood we use letter tiles in our classroom daily. I have always fought with how to organize my tiles.
I started out with plastic baggies, which just became a nightmare for many reasons.
-the are slippery and are hard to store together.
-after being opened so many times they were falling apart
- the baggies ripped easily
So, when Kendall started eating baby food we had a lot of these around the house.

I couldn't stomach throwing these containers away because I knew I would find something to use them for and what better than my letter tiles.

SO, I got to work.

I emptied all the plastic baggies.

Alphabetized the letters.

Put them in a container in small baggies that only I would be opening.
Then put ONLY the letters we are using for each week in the baby food containers.

This works out great becuase I am no longer spending extra time telling the kids what letters to get out, we don't have a big baggie mess, and they fit into the containers nicely!

As simple as it may sound it has made an amazing difference in my classroom!

Are you a mommy of a little baby eating out of these containers? Have you thought of something different the containers could be used for?

New Header

First I want to say I LOVE the header that I had made for me by Sweet Cheeky Blog designs. But, being the creative person that I like to be I thought it would be fun to try my own header!

HERE is what I have come up with. I don't want to post it to my actual blog yet because I want to make sure it's exactly what I want first.

So my other problem is I can't figure out how to get my background paper on the blog. I figured it out but I can't figure out how to make the file small enough so that it will upload to blogger. Any tips?

If you normally don't leave a comment PLEASE do this time, because I would love some feedback on what you think!!

What's in my Purse?

I am participating in Working Mom Wednesday on my sweet friend Julia's blog. If you have a chance visit her! She's one of my favorite people I have been blessed to meet through the blogging world:)

Wanna play along? Grab the button from her blog and join us:) (Speaking of which Julia I totally need to change my bloggy button of yours on my page I'll try to do that tonight!!)

So what is in my purse. Probably everything UNDER the sun. Let's take a nice little look!

OK WAIT! Before I show you the disaster that is my purse let me say first when I brought home the milk I pumped at school yesterday it leaked and just happened to leak onto my purse, so last night I dumped EVERYTHING out of my purse.....well this morning when I woke up I totally forgot I dumped everything out and didn't put it all back together so guess what I did as I was rushing out the door to get K to the sitters and myself to work on time? Yes I threw it all back in there...LITERALLY threw everything back into my purse...OK now you may see the inside of my purse!!
Inside view...yes reciepts galore. If they didn't have my card information on them I would ask the store to keep them...I dislike them unless I bought clothing on them in which case I will probably take the clothing back so I need the reciept.

You think I like zipper pouches? OF course I do! There is one for my glasses, one for my giftcards, one for random things, one for coupons and lastly one little first aid kit.

Next, is my wallet which is so full right now that it won't close. Yes it is full of reciepts. Think I need to clean out the receipts? Maybe I need to quit shopping haha...AGAIN don't forget my purse was dumped out and quickly put back together this morning haha.....

And lastly a few random things...the check book which I usually don't carry in my purse, hand sanitizer, meds, pens, sunglasses, and lipgloss that I never wear haha!

Yah pictures are actually added!!
Thanks for stopping by to see what is in my purse today...now I am off to organize it hahahahaha!

Project Life Tuesday October 8

So almost every picture is of Kendall this week, but she is just growing so fast I can't get enough of her:) She's no longer a baby she just looks like a little toddler:( Makes me sad how fast she really is growing up and I wish she could stay this age FOREVER!!

Enjoy our week! Just a cute little happy Kendall Rae!
Tongiht Chris and I went to the UofL game with Nick and Tara. We had a lot of fun:)

Kendall now turns her head sieways when she is looking at something and we thing she got it from Zoey!

Kendall is so sweet. Tonight while watching Mickey with Daddy she grabbed her Piglet and sat him on Daddy's lap wih her!

Kendall was so cute in her Halloween outfit tonight I loved it!

Kendall looked so adorable in her hooded towel tonight. Can you tell that we ran out of clean baby towels??

I love that Kendall is not a morning person like me! She was not ready to get up this morning:)

I am finally getting all caught up on Project Life. I am so proud of myself for sticking this project out and I can't wait to see what next year's kit looks like:) I have ALL of my journal cards up to date and I am only three weeks behind on adding the days of week to my pictures. I say that's pretty good for me. Thursday starts our fall break so I am hoping to get to it then! I should be completely caught up by this weekend:)

Hope you enjoyed our week in Pictures and don't forget to stop by The Mom Creative for more Project Life pictures!!
