Let's talk Camera Talk

I have been wanting a new camera for a while now. I want a really, really good camera that does three things..

1. Takes good, focused and quality pictures.
2. Takes pictures quickly.
3. Is easy to figure out and use!

I have been looking at the Rebel XL for some time now, but I am not sure if I would EVER figure out how to use that camera.

Now that we are getting ready to have a baby I really want to have a good camera that takes REALLY good pictures QUICKLY...Does anyone know if the Rebel does these things?

Another thing I am intersted in purchasing is a good photo shop. I think that might be part of my problem (OK so I am not the best at taking pictures either!) But, I think if I had a good photoshop I would be able to do a lot more with my pictures as well! What do you think? Any good suggestions on photoshops?

HELP ME! If you have any good suggestions or ideas PLEASE let me know! Thanks:)

Short post Saturday!

This will be a quick and short post for Saturday! I have a head cold and I am MISERABLE! I want to take all of those good meds. that make you feel better and I really can't:( That's alright it will pass I am sure! I thought I would post a picture of my belly today. Yes I am already wearing maternity clothes. NONE of my clothes fit me anymore and I figure maternity would be a little more comfy! I have to tell you about the great deals I have gotten the past 2 dayts on baby and maternity clothes. I will save it for another post, but the pants I have on were 5 dollars and that shirt was 2.50! Heck of a deal the shirt is from Mimi's and the pants are Old Navy!
I am now 11 weeks. I can't believe I am almost done with my first trimester! I am going to the doctor on Wednesday to hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time! We can't wait. Oh and tonight we are taking the intelligender test and I am super excited! I wanna know what he/she is:)
Have a great Saturday:)

Happy Birthday To Me!!

I LOVE birthdays! They are so much fun! Today is my 25th birthday and I just had to share that! Unfortunately I have to go to class tonight from 7-930..but hopefully we will get out early! HOPEFULLY:)

Chris' mom is making me dinner before I go class. Don't know what, but I am sure it will be super yummy:)

Here is a picture of a birthday cake my friends at school got me last year. Birthdays are so much fun at school(work) because we make the biggest deal out of each others birthdays. We always get each other gifts and they are so much fun to open. It's like being a little kid all over again! We just have fun with it!
This Saturday my mom, dad, brothers, their wife and girlfriend are all going out to eat for all of our birthdays. BOTH of my brother's birthdays are next Wednesday. They were born on the same day 8 years apart! And I am exactly one week before them! Pretty cool huh?
What do you do on your birthday? Do you have any special traditions that still go on today?

What I have been doing for the past two hours!!

Ok, so I was on my way to the landry room and then to my scrapping room when I stopped to check my email. Well I had an email from Shutterfly.com saying I had only one more day to order my FREE storybook album. FREE did they say F R E E...sure did. All I had to pay was shipping. So, shipping was 8.47 so it was WELL worth it. I knew I would never get around to scrapping our crusie pictures so why not make a storybook with them! WELL I never in my life thought it would take me 2 HOURS!! But, it was well worth it becuase it is the cutest idea! I can't wait to have a baby I think I will have to do this EVERY month of the first year lol! I am going to try to post the link so that you can look at it. Let me know if you can see it or not! I am pretty pleased with it. Shoot I should be...I just spent a long time on it!

Mommy to be Monday!

So, I know I have been slacking majorly in my posting area, but I can't help it. I am so worn out and tired by the time I get home from work that I just want to eat and go to sleep! Part of being pregnant lol!

NOT TODAY! I went to the grocery when I left work. Came home unloaded groceries, cooked supper, unloaded and loaded the dishwasher, folded laundry, put it away, and started a new load! GO ME:) I am proud of myself, because this time last week there is no way that would have happened!

This week I thought I would share with you something that seems to be helping me! I having been feeling VERY nausea so on Friday night Chris and I decided to go to Rite Aid and pick up the sick bands that everyone has been telling me about. Well, my options were two black rubber bands one for each hand or a sweatband bracelet. I chose the black bands.

They didn't have all these cute colors at my store or I would have gotten one for sure:) These are exactly what they look like though. But, let me tell you they work! I haven't felt near as sick as I did last Wednesday-Friday. And yesterday when I went the pool I took them off and by the end of the day I was ready to get sick so I had to put them back on. They have been such a blessing. I know they don't work for everyone, so if you are/were really sick during pregnancy they probably wouldn't work for you, but they have definitly given me some relief!

All you do is put them about 2 and 1/2 fingers away from the crease in your wrist and snap them on. You can turn the knob on the round part that is on your pressure point to tighten or loosen the pressure. People honestly don't even notice them unless I point them out to them. It is well worth the fashion statement BELIEVE me!!

Hopefully I will be back to my normal bloggy self now that I have gotten a little more into the routine of being back at work:)

Friday Night Fab Five: Restaurants!

OK so I want to eat FOOD sooooo bad, but nothing sounds good. None of my favorite foods sounds good at all and I am so jealous of people around me that can eat good foods LoL!! So, what a good fab five..my favorite restaurants. I am going to one of them tonight and I will let you know how it goes! Alright here goes!!! 1. Tumbleweed: If you don't have one of these in your town or area I am so SORRY!! This is the best restaurant EVER! They have the best con queso you could put in your mouth and I love their steaks and burritos. It is Tex Mex which is my favorite food! We are going there tonight so I will let you know how it taste, because I haven't had it since I got pregnant!

2. Texas Roadhouse: I love steak can you tell? Well this is my all time favorite steakhouse. I love the cactus blossom and the steak cabob! So YUMMY:) Here's another sad story for me lol, I love to eat my meat medium rare and guess what? Can't do that while your prego! That's alright it will be SO worth it in the end!

3. Skyline Chili: Even though I am not from Cinncinatti, this is still one of my favorites. My best friend and I eat there once a month. Actually I don't think I will eat there while I am pregnant because I don't want to not like it once I am not pregnant anymore. And yes in Louisville, Kentucky we put noodles in our chili!!

4. The Old Spaghetti Factory: I love, love pasta and the old spaghetti factory is a super yummy place to eat. If you have one and you have never gone GO. There spaghetti is to die for. The one here is downtown and there is almost always a wait when we go to eat there!

5. PF Changs: Another one of my very favorite restaurants is PF Changs. I love their lettuce wraps and their sweet and sour chicken! Have one? If you haven't tried it you must!!

So, I will let you know how my Tumbleweed tastes!

Sorry I have been so MIA. School is kicking my butt! I can't hardly stay awake past 6 each night. NO KIDDING! I come home make supper, lay on the couch, take a bath, and go to bed. Of course I haven't left school before 5 all week long. I sure hope that changes in the next couple of weeks!!

My Summer is Over:(

I am so sad that my summer is now over. I know I am spoiled because I get 8 weeks out of the summer off, but it is just so sad that it's already gone! Well I was thinking about this post and I wanted to see how much of my summer bucket list I was able to complete! So, let's go through it together!!
*Clean REALLY, REALLY good ALL of the rooms in thehouse, including the windows, baseboards, and all of those places that we just don't clean often. So do we EVER actually finish this one? Why did I put that on my summer bucket list ha ha!
*Organize and get rid of A LOT of things/stuff that we just don't need anymore! Cleaned out the entire baby room closet! Does that count?
*Complete 12 hours of school towards my masters so that in the fall I will have 6 hours left until I am offically done! Totally did this!!
* Go on a nice, relaxing, and well deserved cruise. Need I say more!!!
* Get my classroom ORGANIZED and all put together and ready for the first day of a new school year. (Yes I do have to work a little over the summer!!) About as good as I can get!
*Relax by the pool as MUCH as possible! Wish I could have done more!
* Complete my honeymoon scrapbook and at 25 other los. I can do it!! Begin my Pregnancy album! WEll completed some of my honeymoon scrapbook! But, not all..well definitly soon though! And I know what I am doing for my pregnancy album so that should count!
Well I will say I didn't do too bad...so HERE's to another year of teaching. Hope it's a good one!

These are a few of My favorite Things: Favorite Flower

I am having so much fun participating in the Challenges over at These are a few of my Favorite Things. This is what I came up with for this week! It was so much fun to do. I wasn't going to use my pictures, but my good friend Lisa reminded me that my house will soon be taken over by baby pictures, which means this one would just get covered up! SO, I thought what the heck! I love how this turned out. I don't ever use that many flowers on a lo, but why not? Especially since the lo is all about flowers. Gerber Daisies have ALWAYS been my favorite flowers! I love all the different colors they come in and I knew that I was definitly going to use them in my wedding. Never any thought to it!
Here is a close up of the picture!
To make my lo. I used some paper from my good friend Maggi. She was so sweet to send them to me! I LOVE them. I got the gerber daisies at Archivers and I used Doodlebug buttons for the middle. I had never used Thickers before, but I LOVE them. I think I will be buying more of these. (And you would think that since I have my cricut I wouldn't need thickers! Whatever!!)

Please let me know what you think!

I have decided that I am going to do my own book of favorite things since I will have all of these los. I hope they do MANY MANY more challenges so that I can have lots of pictures to add to my book:)

New Blog Makeover!!

I just have to share that my new blog makeover should be here really soon! I am super excited..I have seen what she has done and WOW...Traci is amazing!! Come back really soon to see it...I PROMISE you will love it:)

First Doctor Visit: Christmas in August: Major Storm!

So, all of this happened today!
Once again for the third time in less than a year we make National News on account of our Weather. Most of downtown Louisville was shut down due to major flooding. University of Louisville was closed with 15 buildings flooded. And this is what my backyard looked like before we left for the doctor's appointment. Our travel there was an ADVENTURE..we were practically floating through water, but we were getting there if I had to get a boat out and canoe there! Then we got there and I thought my doctor's office was on the third floor. No. Maybe the fourth. No. OK so it was the fifth. WE finally made it and we won't make that mistake again:)

The river in my backyard.
We checked in and we were handed a whole baggie full of goodies. These are all the things I was given. Formula already?

This is what our baby looks like right now!
And I don't know that I have EVER seen a baby small enough to wear a diaper that size...Maybe I will!!

Then we went back to the room. I peed in a cup, we had a consultation with the doctor, did a check up, and got blood taken. Everything was good and she said that I am 6 weeks and 4 days and still the delivery date of March 26, 2010! Yah!

Only bad thing is she wants me to take these! They are prenatel vitamins. She gave me enough for 5 weeks. I really am scared to take them because I am scared I will be sick from them. I am going to try to eat a bowl of cereal before I go to bed and then take them. I have never been able to take "big people" vitamins, so really nervous! I will let you know how that goes:)

So, I am thinking we will register at Target, and the Baby Depot in Burlington. I wanted to do Babies R Us, but I don't think three places are needed and Target and Baby Depot are within 10 miles of my house! What do you think?

Mommy To Be Monday: What To Expect When Your Expecting!

Since I am now going to be a Mommy I thought I would use Julia's other awesome blog idea and do my first Mommy to be Monday Post as a review about my favorite book and a great website thus far in my pregnancy. I am sure EVERYONE has heard of the book What to Expect When Your Expecting by: Heidi Murkoff. But, it is just such a great book that I HAVE to blog about it. I had no idea how much this book would be used during my pregnancy and honestly I thought I would look at it a few times and then put it away. I seriously use the index on this book more than ANY other book I have ever read that didn't have to do with a class I was taking;) If I feel something funny, eat something different, get bit by a bug, want to know if I can drink sweet tea, wanna know what that funny bump is or just want to find something I haven't learned yet, I go straight to this book. It has seriously kept me from calling my doctor at least 20 times. Yes, I am that crazy person that wants to know EVERYTHING and if ANYTHING crazy happens I am on the phone immediately trying to figure out what it is. But, thanks to this book I no longer have to do such things.

I will definitly get What to Expect in the first year and toddler years after I have my babies. Do any of you have these two books? Do you like them and have you found them useful?
The What to Expect Website is just as awesome. There are message boards where you can talk to other women that are expecting in the same month as you. Not only that, but you can look up a ton of things on the site as well. Also, you put your expected due date and each week they send you newsletters about what to expect during this week of your pregnancy. I probably get at least one email from them a day. However, they are very helpful emails and the way they are set up is very appealing to the eye.

What to Expect knows that sometimes there is also a man involved throughout the pregnancy as well and they have thoughtfully added a few words of advice and even comfort for the daddy to be. I thought that was great because I haven't found many books in which this is the case.

Definitly go check out What To Expect It is an awesome tool if you are pregnant, getting pregnant, or even just thinking about it.

There is also a book out now that is called What to Expect Before your Expecting. Didn't know this until the other day, but those of you trying to conceive should for sure check it out! I am sure it is just as useful as What To Expect When You're Expecting has been for me!
Hope you enjoyed my first Mommy to be Monday:)
Please check out my other blog Nine Months and Counting. It's a picture a day of my entire pregnancy!!!
