Back for the Weekend!

So, I was able to post Wednesday from school since my class was canceled, but I am so glad to have the computer for the weekend. I don't know if I will make it til August without a home computer!

So weekend plans! Tonight Chris has a softball game. Nothing unusual. But, tomorrow I am SOOO excited because we are going to the Kenny concert at Cardinal Stadium! Not only is it Kenny, but it is also Sugarland, Miranda Lambert, Lady Annebel (spelling), Montgomery Genetry! I am so super excited! There are about 40 of us going to tailgate before and then on to the concert! I have been waiting for weeks for this...and you won't believe how much we paid for our tickets! 30 dollars! The radio station in town paid the rest. They ran this thing on ticket master where you could get 80 dollar tickets for 20. Course we had to pay all the taxes and fees which made them 30, but who can complain!

So, I will post pics on Sunday of our eventful day tomorrow! I can't wait!
Night.

No More Kindergarten:*o(

Well I am at school, but class was canceled. I know it's nice, but I wish I had not driven 30 minutes to get here to find out that I will not have class tonight!

Well I have been thinking about this post for a while. I am writing it today, but I am not sure when I will actually post it. I was told last week that I will no longer be teaching kindergarten. I am moving up to first. I have a lot of different emotions about this situation so let me just spill them out to you.SAD. I am because I have worked with the same wonderful group of women for the past three years. The first three years of my teaching career. They have been amazing. Wonderful. Supportive. and what will I do without them? I have learned so much from all of them. Two teachers and three teaching assistants is what I will be leaving behind. Sad I am because no longer will it be my job to teach some small children that have NEVER been in school before. I had the honor of teaching so many young children that had never been away from thier mothers before. I never knew who would walk down those halls the first week of school. There was no other teacher at the school (unless they went to preschool) that could tell me "Oh I had so and so last year and he/she is _______) I got to experience them all first hand. VERY sad am I that I am leaving behind my wonderful and supportive teaching assistant. She has been there for me numerous times and not just for school. She is the sweetest woman and has become such a great friend and someone I really look up to. I am really. really. really going to miss her. And I know she will miss me too.

HAPPY/EXCITED. For a new chapter in my life. I will be working with a new group of women. None of us have taught first grade before. All of us are in our twenties. All of us married within the last five years. We will work very well together. I know we all of the best of ideas and we will do so much for the first graders that are coming in next year. I am excited that I know this group of kids and that I am moving up with them. I have, however, decided not to keep my kids that I taught this year. I know, I know there are many pros to this, but there are also many cons to this as well. I just feel like my students need to move on to new teachers. If their parents request that they stay with me then of course they will be in my class next year! But, if not I am just going to split them between the other three first grade teachers.

So, I am Sad, Happy, Excited all rolled into one for the next school year. I am sure that no matter what it will be a good experience and I will definitly make the best of it! Now to get my room moved by June 12! AAHHHHHHH!!

Saying Farewell til Friday:0(

Well since our computer at home doesn't work STILL. We are going to have to get a new one, but the guy at Insight told me to wait until August because Microsoft is coming out with something other than Vista and a lot of people don't like Vista..ANYWAYS like you wanted to know that! I decided I better say goodbye til Friday. Maybe I can talk Chris into bringing his computer home on Wednesday! It's too much for him to bring it home every night so maybe he will compromise...Oh what will I do when I get out of school and I am home ALL day without a computer? Probably just go insane!

Well so long til Friday or hopefully Wednesday! Please still visit me I promise I will be back soon!!

Love ya guys!
Christy

My Heart Belongs to Target!!

Have I ever mentioned that I LOVE Target? Well, I do! I use to go there at least once a week and come out of there with all kinds of new things. But, I had to stop my target visits so that we could save some money. Sad. Sad. Sad. So, now I only go there a few times a month. Maybe once or twice. Hopefully, one day soon I will be able to continue my weekly trips to Target.

So, I went there today just to roam around. Of course you don't ever leave target without buying something. Well I don't at least! So, anyways I have been working on our honeymoon book for a few days now. I have about ten los done. I told myself that when I got 25 done I would go buy a book for them. Remember I am doing an 8X8 album. Well, would you believe what my eyes found at Target today? I had to buy it, because of course it was the last one and I just couldn't take those chances. I think Target has a pretty nice selection of scraping stuff and it seems to be of good quality. Well here is my book that I found.
I am not sure that the picture in it now is the one that will stay so we will see. I know our heads are a little cut off, but they are cut off in most everyone of our pics. That's what happens when you go on vacation by yourselves! But, I loved this album. How perfect is it? A honeymoon album and it was 8X8! It was fate I know it was. This is what the inside of it looks like!

Yes we went on our honeymoon TWO years ago and I am just now working on our book. SHAME! Trying to get all caught up as much as I can on all the albums I want done for now! We shall see how that goes:0)

A New Technique!

I always like to try new things in my scrapbooking. I might not always be good at them, but at least I try them once. Well tonight I decided I would try using paint in one of my los. It didn't turn out too bad, but it isn't the best either! I of course did a lo of none other than Zoey! Yes, Yes I know your surprised! The pictures are of Zoey sniffing Chris' pillow. Anyways I used pink and teal paint and just painted on my lo page. Then I used a white to spell out the title "Daddy's Pillow." I also used the teal to paint some white flowers, because I didn't have any flowers that color! Here are a few pictures of it. What do you think?

I also wanted to put a lo from my honeymoon album that I am working on. I have a lot more to do on it. I have only gotten about 8 or 9 los done. Remember I am making this an 8X8 album? Well I am doing a lot of things different in this book then I normally do in my albums. First, not every page is a two page lo. I KNOW SCAREY for me. I ALWAYS do 2 page los. However, I wanted my album to be the story of our honeymoon. So, each page, except of course the one I am putting on tonight, has a LOT of journaling on it. Some pages are plainer than others, but I am alright with that because I just wanted to get a lot of writing down on each page so we wouldn't forget all the fun that we had on our honeymoon.
OK so that is a totally different post, but I wanted to get some opinions. PLEASE give me your opinions! So, B-A-B-Y is on our minds!! We have been talking about starting the adventure of becoming parents! I don't know that we will start now, but it's in our minds. I have been thinking about posting this, but didn't know if I wanted to discuss it just yet. But, what the heck might as well huh!? I was wondering if any of you started your scrapbooking albums for your babies before you even knew you were pregnant? I wanted to start mine, but I wanted to start it out with pics of Chris and I. I guess really this wouldn't be my babies album, but more or less the "road to becoming parents" album. What do you think? I need ideas for this album, because I don't want just two or three pages in it. Here are some of my ideas, Chris baby page, me baby page, pages about our lives, pages about our likes and dislikes, etc. Just something neat for our kids to look at when they get older! Tell me what you think and I am sure there will be more "discussions" of babies in upcoming posts ;0)

TGIF and a three day weekend!

Oh goodness it is FINALLY Friday! I am so excited about a three day weekend! I am going to the pool tomorrow and I can't wait. I love a natural suntan!! I am so excited that summer is getting closer and closer!

How sad is this? Today would have been our last day of school but since Hurricane Ike came through our town along with Ice Storm '09 we are now going until June 3rd. Therefore, we have 7 school days left. I can make it I know I can. I will be sad to lose another group of kids, but excited for the summer at the same time.

Oh and I have a Cruise update. We are no longer going to the places I mentioned in my last post. Apparently no cruises are going to their ports in Mexico (which we had figured would happen) so our entire cruise has now been changed. We are going to Grand Cayman Islands, Grand Turk, and Ochos Rios. I am very excited about Cayman Islands because I have been there twice and that is my FAVORITE place to go. I think it is Paradise! I am sad however because I REALLY wanted to go to Belize. But, Chris promises we will go there someday and he is pretty good on keeping his promises. So, we are now set to three ports instead of four, which is fine with me because I know they are just thinking of our safety. We have 35 more days until we sail away for seven days on Carnival Glory and I CAN'T wait!!

I am still going to school four nights a week after work. It makes for a long day, but it will be so worth it in December when I am finished with my masters. I actually didn't have class Tuesday night for some reason, but it was a blessing. I started feeling bad Sunday night and even worse on Monday. So, Tuesday right after school I went straight to the immediate care center. Of course I had a sinus infection. So, they gave me a Zpac. I have two more days on it. I feel better, but not a 100%. Let's just hope that it goes away with the Zpac and I don't have to go back to the docs again!

Alright I am hoping to get some scraping done. I am working on a project, and I haven't been in my scraping room for two weeks. I am trying to do an 8X8 book of our honeymoon. I want to get it finished soon, because when we get pregnant I will work only on that I am sure of it!!

Hope everyone has a fab. Friday night.

He Said I DO!

My brother said "I do" yesterday afternoon at Farmington in Louisville, Kentucky! It was outside and boy did we dodge a HUGE thunderstorm just as the wedding was starting! Chris looked at the radar right before we were ready to begin and there was a huge storm sitting on top of us. And then it just disappeared, but during the whole wedding I am looking up at the sky and all around me praying it doesn't rain and it didn't. This is the only picture I have of the rehearsal dinner. This is my little brother's girlfriend, Emily. Isn't she so darn cute! Notice I took my shoes off so that I wouldn't be five inches taller than her.

Here are a few pictures from the day! First here is a picture of my little brother and I walking in. So, yes we are looking at our feet, but the bricks were so uneven and where it had rained the dirt in between each brick was mud, so we had to make sure that I wouldn't trip over a brick or my heel wouldn't get caught in the mud lol! I have to say I don't know what we were thinking when we picked out these dresses. First of all they show EVERY nasty part of your body possible and they stick to you. I think it was the fabric. I told Emily that she is NOT allowed to have this fabric in her wedding when her and Joe get married.

I like this picture of all of the girls including the bride to be! I think this is one of my favorite pictures.

Here is a picture of my brother Mike and I! Do we look alike lol!?

And here is the last picture I will show you! The middle standing to the left of me is my grandma and next to her are my cousins and Rachel and then Emma. Aunt Lisa is on the other side of me. Do you think that Rachel and I look alike? EVERYONE thinks we are sisters not cousins because she resembles me. I don't see it, but Rachel is beautiful and so is Emma!

And of course Chris is missing from all the pictures because he was taking all the pics.:0( I can't wait to see the photographers pictures she took tons and I am sure she got a lot of beautiful shots.

What's New!!??

So, my brother is getting married tomorrow and I am spending the day at my mom and dads so I thought I would write a little blog! I miss my computer and not being able to get on here and blog or share my new scrappy things!

So what has been going on? We are finished with school on June 3 for the kids and June 5 for the teachers! I am offically going to be a first grade teacher next year! I am no longer going to teach kindergarten. I am excited, nervous, sad, happy and everything all rolled into one! If you teach first grade I will take any IDEAS you have! I am excited that I will be working with an awesome team of girls, but I am also sad for other reasons. I am sad that I will have to leave a wonderful assistant that has done EVERYTHING for me the past two years. I am sad that I will be losing two incredible team members and two other incredible assistants. I will be just around the corner from them though so that won't be TOO bad, but it will still be different. I am also excited because the classroom I am moving into has a door and window in it! I have NEITHER in my classroom right now and I will no longer have kids walking through my classroom to go to the bathroom! I work in an open school building (which means we have no walls) and the bathrooms are located in my classroom for the kindergarteners! So, I won't have to deal with that anymore!

I am very, very excited that we are getting closer to our cruise! We are going to have SO much fun! I can't wait to lay around and relax for seven WHOLE days!! It will be too nice. I love this time of year, but we are also so busy. I am already back in summer school so not only am I still working all day, but I got to school Monday-Thursday from 530-830! Makes for a long day. But, I will be so excited when I have my masters out of the way.

Well I guess I have rambled enough, but hopefully I will get my computer back soon and will be back everyday!

Talk to ya soon!

This is Why I Go to Work EVERYDAY!!

I get the cutest notes from students EVERYDAY. However, I can't keep all of them because I would just have binders and binders full of them. Therefore, I just keep a few of them a year so that I am not overloaded with them. Well on Monday I got one that I am sure will be kept for a LONG time! It is the cutest thing ever. I love to watch the notes from my kindergarteners evolve from a bunch of letters and made up spellings to actual words. This is a note that was left on my desk Monday morning. I didn't pick it up and read it until later that day. However, I about lost it when I read this one. I PROMISE you this was written by a six year old kindergarten in my class. I will not say if it is a boy or girl but this child is an excellant writer and speller. Here is the note: I made it as large as I could, but it reads and is written as follows, Dear Mrs Wallace, I didn't Feel good yesterday I had Diarrihh

Told you the child was an excellant speller! The other kindergarten teachers say she can probably spell that word better than some adults. It is a HARD word to spell. My husband didn't belive this was really from a child, but I promise it is!

Not only are my students excellent spellers, but they say the darnest things! I could fill up this Quotable Kid book that Jessica Turner is giving away in one school year!

Derby/National Scrapbooking Day!

Today is Derby and it is also National Scrapbooking Day. So, I am doing both! Last night I started on a mini album. Well, let's just say that I thought it was a good idea to do a mini album of our honeymoon. I was going to pick a "few" pictures from each day and use them for the mini album. WAY TOO HARD, so here I am starting an 8X8 album! I refuse to do a 12X12 album for our honeymoon. I just wanted a small and sweet book, so therefore I chose 8X8! I am hoping to finish most of it tonight and lots of it tomorrow! If so, this will be my first complete album since I have started seriously scrapbooking! I am hoping I do this, because it will be a great accomplishment! So, maybe tonight I can post a few pictures of the album. I am trying to make it simple as possible and a lot of journaling to remember important things. HOWEVER, our honeymoon was almost two years ago and unfortunately we didn't write any of this down. So, pictures will come tonight!

What are we doing for Derby? We always go to my aunts house. She lives down the hill. We play cornhole and bet on different races. However, it is TOO cold today so I doubt we are going to be staying for too long. Actually I know we won't be staying very long because I would rather be home today and hang out here!

What are your Saturday plans!?
