Talk Derby to me!!

NO really don't lol because I probably wouldn't be able to keep up with the conversation! Yes, I have lived in Louisville, Kentucky ALL of my life and NO I have never been to the Derby! I have been to Oaks though, which seems to be more of a locals day at the Downs! However, I LOVE living in Louisville during Derby season for many reasons one being I am a school teacher and we NEVER go to school on Oaks day! Therefore, I have a three day weekend!

Another being that STARS come to Louisville to watch the Derby. Some stars that have been here in the past are Jessica Simpson, Nick Lachey, Girls Next Door, and many, many more that I just can't think of right now! This year I heard that Michael Jackson is coming to town.

I love all of the events that lead up to Derby, however I don't ever seem to attend them! For example, Chris and I watched Thunder Over Louisville from the porch of our house. We heard and saw the planes fly overhead all day for the air show. At night we sat on the front porch to watch the fireworks! We could see all of it except the fireworks coming off of the bridge of course! But, it was good enough for me! Why? Because when it was over I was already at home and didn' t have to wait in traffic for three hours to get home! YES some people were in traffic that long! Let me see if I can find the link to the thunder video for those that are not from Louisville, because it is definitly a sight to see! The biggest fireworks show in all of the country lasting over thirty minutes long! WOW!! Thunder's site (Not sure if this has a video of the fireworks on it, but this is the site for Thunder Over Louisville!

I also love the week leading up to Derby at school! NOT because the kids are WILD and CRAZY because they know it is a four day week, but because we talk about none other than our state of Kentucky and make Jockey silks, jockey hats, and sometimes there very own horses (stick horses of course!) It is a lot of fun and on Thursday we always have a Derby hat parade and the kids' hats are so darn cute! I have a picture of one from last year on my computer, OH WAIT my computer is dying so that is probably another picture I will LOSE (*TEAR*) The kids are so excited to take part in all of the activities that we have at school each year.

The number one thing I LOVE about Derby is drawing out my horse from the two Derby pots at school and all of them at the Derby party we go to on Saturday! Ok so the two horse I got today have the fabulous odds of 50-1 and 20-1 so I doubt they will win me any money, but that is OK because it is still fun!!

Did you know that the Kentucky Derby is the GREATEST two minutes in SPORTS?
What is your city or state known for?

It's Spring!

Yesterday it was so pretty here. The weather was in the 80s!! I actually turned the air on last night. I was trying my hardest not to do this, but I was sweating so bad that I had to do it. I just turned it on 78 so that isn't too bad!

Zoey and I were outside yesterday and I decided to take some pictures of the tree in our front yard. Here is one of the pictures that I captured! Yes I am an aspiring photographer lol so I know it's not that great of a picture! My soon to be sister-in-law and I have been talking about taking photography classes. Which, I hope we do and I have been researching for a new "good" camera! I think she has a rebel so I want to play with hers a little to see if I like it!
I am so glad that this tree bloomed and I wish it would stay all summer. I love this tree! It is in our front yard. Honestly I am really surprised that this tree bloomed for two reasons. Reason #1 is Hurricane Ike that hit us in October of last year, which I don't have any pictures of on this computer!)

Reason #2 being the icestorm that hit us in January.
We had so many damaged trees and branches that I was sure that these trees would not bloom in the spring. I thought we would have to get them all cut down. I am so happy this one made it through the storm along with the dogwood on the side of the house. We have three trees in the back that have to be cut down and we have been waiting SINCE October for this to happen. They are "suppose" to be here on Wednesday to cut down, but this is about the fourth schedule change so we will see! Who would have ever thought that in Louisville, Kentucky we would have two major storms within six months of one another!?

Still No Computer!

My computer is still not working. Chris brought the laptop home for the weekend! It is hard not having the internet at home. What did we do without it? I know got to know our family a little better LOL!

Tonight we went to my future sister-in-laws mom's house to put together the favor boxes for their wedding. That was a chore in itself. I actually cut all 175 boxes, letters and flowers out with my Cricut. That is the most I have ever cut out with that thing and I thought I was going to lose my mind. I got it done though and that is all that matters.

I am so glad it is the weekend. I am ready to sleep in and my allergies have been bothering me so much at night so it makes it harder to get up in the mornings. I am going to eat lunch tomorrow with a friend and her son and I am so excited because I haven't seen them in forever. Then I plan on cleaning the house and getting scraping room straightened so that I can start looking at all the CTMH products that I got. I want to plan my party really soon, but we will see if that works or not! If you are interested in purchasing anything please let me know. I want to place my first order soon!

I am sure you are done hearing about my wonderful life so I am going to go now. So sad that I can't post any pictures on here because I have none on this computer=( SAD SAD SAD!

Crashed Computer!

I am so sad that my computer crashed on Saturday morning. I love being able to get online and chat with friends and look at all the wonderful crafting that goes on. However, I think I have also realized a few things about me and the computer! I am getting to know it too much! After being away from it for a few days I have gotten SO much house work done! When I first got married I was obsessed with cleaning my house (I still sort of am, but just not as OCD about it!) Well, once I got my cricut I kinda let a few things go to the side as I was cruisng the cricut site often (such as laundry!)

Well not having my computer has reminded me of all the things I NEED to still do around my house on a daily basis such as vacumn, laundry, dishes, mop, and the list goes on and on. Plus I wasn't getting very much scrapping done either.

So, I have now learned that I need to set a time limit for the computer and I, as there are more important things I should be doing around my house! I think I will be very good at this too, because I know that things now need to get done and that I am "wasting" a lot of my time at night on the computer. Don't get me wrong I will still be on and I will still read the blogs I like to read, but I just have to make sure I get my chores done first!

My wonderful husband has been so kind to bring home his laptop at night so that I can still blog and get online! Isn't he GREAT?!!

Cruise!!!

I am so excited!! Today Chris offically booked our summer vacation! We are going on a cruise! I CAN'T wait! This will be my fourth and Chris' third cruise! We went on a cruise out of California for our honeymoon! I am so excited to go back. We figured it might be a long time before we get the chance to go on a cruise again so we are going to take the opportunity while we can. You will never believe the prices of cruises right now. They are so incredibly cheap considering it includes all of your dining (breakfast, lunch, and supper), desserts all day long, free shows, and much, much more!

If you have never been on a cruise it is an experience! Especially the living situation. The rooms are very small! This is what our room will look like with a queen bed. It is a little bigger than this because we got an upgrade for being past guest. However, there is barely enough room for your stuff! Not much moving around space either. But, you are NEVER in your room except to shower and sleep! So, getting the cheaper room this time around was a better deal for us!
OK that being said I have to show you what room we stayed in the last time we went on our cruise, which was our honeymoon. We got the penthouse suite. Man was it AWESOME! We had a sitting area, a huge bathroom, king size bed, and our very OWN balcony which wrapped around the whole back of the boat. Here is a few pictures of that experience! A bit of a change, but we will have fun no matter what!!

We are leaving out of Port Canaveral in Orlando. From there we will go to Belize, Costa Maya, Nassau, and Cozumel!! We are going on the boat Glory. Chris said we will definitly go to ruins in Belize and I want to go to the beach in Cozumel. So, we will have a great time!
OK I have to admit my favorite thing about going on a cruise is the ice cream! It is the best ice cream ever and you can get it as MUCH as you would like, because it is self serve 24/7. And Chris told me that our room is RIGHT next to an ice cream parlor!! I will be rolling off of the cruise on our way home!
I just wanted to share with you our very, very exciting vacation for this summer! I will definitly need it because I am going to summer school May 12-June 23 and July 6-July 23. So, this will be a nice and relaxing time for the both of us!

Cute Kiddie Can

Well I made this Kiddie Can for a swap on the cricut message board and just had to share with you all. I had so much fun making the can! I thought it turned out cute and I really hope that she is able to use it!

So, here is what I did! I covered the paint can with blue and white. Then I used the Dreams Come True Cricut Cart. to make Little Mermaid Cutouts! I glued some of them onto the can for a scene.
On one side I made the ocean scene and on the other side I put the castle!
Then I made cut outs of the characters from Little Mermaid. I put these on magnets for the children to use on the scenes of the paint can! It reminds me a lot of paperdolls, which is something I LOVED to play with when I was little. This is why I think I had so much fun making this can, because I know that I would have loved to play with something like this.
I also made cutouts of shells, starfish, horsefish, and other ocean items. I glued a lot of these onto the cans, but left a few of them off in the can for the kids to play with however they would like!
I even had a little fun last night playing with the cans. I put the magnets on both scenes to see what they would look like! Here is the ocean side!
And here is the castle side!!
I just think this can turned out really good and I am so proud of it! I sure hope that my partner likes it as much as I do! Lastly I filled the can with some more crafty goodies for the kids and sent off to be played with!
I can't wait to hear what they think about it!

Another Dog Lo!!!

Ok your probably getting tired of dog los, and I promise that the next lo will be of a person lol! OK so here is a lo I did of Charley. I had a lot of fun with the different paper piecings on this one.

The patterned paper and the lighter blue paper are all from the CTMH paper kit Magic Moments. I used the stamp, which is also CTMH stamp set Remember This, to tell Charley's birthday. I used Zooballoo Cart. for the letters in Charley's name.

I really had fun with this lo and didn't something different on this page. I used a hidden journaling square. As you can see it is under the picture! This was fun to do. I also stapled the ribbon onto the tag, which is another technique I have never used in my scrapbooking, but I hear it is very popular now!

I hope you enjoy this lo and I hope that you had a very Happy Easter!

Taking a leap!

Well today I have taken a leap into the consultant world! I have decided to become a consultant for Close to my heart! I just love the products so much and I really enjoy using them. I thought this would be a fun way to share my love for the products with others around me! We will see how it goes. If anything I will be getting more great products to add to my collection!!

I will have a website up and running really soon and will post that address as soon as it is up and going! However, if you think you might be interested in CTMH products and don't already work with a consultant please feel free to email me at ChrisytWallace84@yahoo.com. I would love to work with anyone in the US!!

I will also be starting a new club really soon once I get all of my products in! So, if you would be interested in that please email me as well. I am currently in a club with another CTMH consultant and really really enjoy it! It is a great way to earn free products without having to go to a show!

Ok so I really hope some of you will be interested in ordering products from me. Or if you just have any questions in general about CTMH products please let me know!!

The simpliest lo I have done!

OK so I have been on a dog scrapping roll here lately! I finished these two pages Sunday night, and thought I would share them with you. I orginally was going with this lo sketch, simplescrapbooksketches but it didn't come out quite that way now that I look at the sketch, but here is what I got!

This was one of the simpliest los I have ever done before, but I really like the way that it turned out. Ok the striped paper is CTMH as well as the buttons. I also made the brackets with a CTMH stamp! I used cuttin up for the letters.

Please let me know what you think I really love reading comments! (I know I am a loser blogger with no blogging friends!=*(
Thanks for stopping by!!

I don't know how to make my pictures so that you can click to enlarge, so I hope you can see the pic. alright!

It's an ADDICTION!

I am coming to the conclusion that I am addicted to my FLAT IRON! I have been straightening my hair for 6 years now and I don't think I can stop. Why would I want to you may ask? Well I use to have somewhat of a curl to my hair, which is now completely gone due to the fact that I straighten my hair every time I wash it.

Why do I straighten my hair? Because if I don't it is a frizz of a mess. Not to an extreme, but it is bad enough that I want it to lay flat and nicely on my head and therefore have to straighten it with a flat iron.

I was sad to figure out when I tried to curl my hair about a month ago that I had lost ALL of my natural curl. A straightener pulls at our hair folicles so much that it takes the curl away. So, my hair dresser bought me a curling iron and told me NOT to use my flat iron anymore. WHAT? I can't not use my flat iron I am addicted to it!

So, I haven't used it for 7 days today! But, guess what I am going to use it tomorrow! I figured if I only use it once a week that I will be alright! She might not think so, but I do cause I have to use it. I love curly hair, but sometimes I need it straight too.

How many of you think that I have lost my mind? Probably all of you, UNLESS you too use a straightener and are now addicted to it!!
She should be proud that she finally got me to stop using my Chi and to use the Paul Mitchell straightener, which is suppose to be "better" for your hair. Not quite sure how a straightener could be good at all LOL!!

So, Yes I am addicted to my straightener and I will probably straighten my hair for the rest of my life!
Are you addicted to yours? What hair product can you not live without?

You don't have to scrap them all!

If you have noticed I have been working on a lot of pet los the past few weeks. Well we have tons of cat and dog pictures so I am trying to get ALL of them scrapped and in an album in the next few weeks. So far so good! I am excited about completing this project because we really do have so many pictures that need to be put in an album for good!

Saying that leads me to the reason for this post! I was watching a scrapbooking show on DIY the other day and got the best idea. I am sure most of us are familiar with project 365 and the album pages that it contains. Well why not use that in some of your everyday scrapbooking pages. I am so big on doing two page los in my albums because I want each page to go together. Well, now I can add extra pictures that I am not sure I want to scrap to a photo page and then have a one page lo on the other side. I put five pictures into 5 of the 6 slots and then I journaled in one of the slots. I think I will really enjoy this method too, because there are so many pictures that I am just not sure I want to make an actual scrapping page with. Therefore, I will be able to add them to these slots and still insert them into my scrapbooking albums! Love this idea. Here is an example of it using of course Charley and Zoey!

This is the left side of the page! Just two pictures of Charley and Zoey during their first photo shoot together!!
And here is the right side of the lo! I am sure many other people do this, but I just came upon it and wanted to share it wih others because I plan on using it quite a bit in my pet album!!
And here is the journaling that I did on the album page! What do you think!? Would you use this method in your scrapbooking?

I love Spring!

Spring is one of my favorite times of the year! I am such a season person, because I like change every so often. I have been slowly decorating my house for the spring time. Tomorrow I am having a wedding shower at my house, so I have been really trying to get some decorating done.

The other day I bought a few flowers at HL along with some pastel peas! I made this flower arrangement with them. I just love it. I enjoy making flower arrangements in my house for different times of the year. I also like to change all of my candles so that they match the season as well. So, that is my goal for today, get my candles changed out!

Here is a picture of the flowers alone, and the the flowers next to my easter decorations! Let me know what you think! Do you like to change your decorations out for each season?

Wow that took a LONG time!

Have you ever worked on a page lo for a long time? I did the other day. I don't know what took me so long on this page, but it did. I like the end result, however, I sort of wish I would have actually journaled on journaling cards! But, it still didn't turn out too bad. It just took me FOREVER to complete and really there is nothing to it. I used cuttin up for my title. The mats are paper from the DCWV stack glitter. The buttons and flowers are CTMH and the ribbon is from HL. The ribbon was a last minute add on, but I still think it looks alright.

So, what took me so long to do this page? Well I rearranged the pictures at least five different times, I couldn't figure out what I should title it, and lastly I wanted to make sure I wrote down everything I wanted for each picture. Which, is why I numbered the pictures as well as the journaling that belongs to each. Please let me know what you think! Thanks for stopping by!
