First Doctor Visit: Christmas in August: Major Storm!

So, all of this happened today!
Once again for the third time in less than a year we make National News on account of our Weather. Most of downtown Louisville was shut down due to major flooding. University of Louisville was closed with 15 buildings flooded. And this is what my backyard looked like before we left for the doctor's appointment. Our travel there was an ADVENTURE..we were practically floating through water, but we were getting there if I had to get a boat out and canoe there! Then we got there and I thought my doctor's office was on the third floor. No. Maybe the fourth. No. OK so it was the fifth. WE finally made it and we won't make that mistake again:)

The river in my backyard.
We checked in and we were handed a whole baggie full of goodies. These are all the things I was given. Formula already?

This is what our baby looks like right now!
And I don't know that I have EVER seen a baby small enough to wear a diaper that size...Maybe I will!!

Then we went back to the room. I peed in a cup, we had a consultation with the doctor, did a check up, and got blood taken. Everything was good and she said that I am 6 weeks and 4 days and still the delivery date of March 26, 2010! Yah!

Only bad thing is she wants me to take these! They are prenatel vitamins. She gave me enough for 5 weeks. I really am scared to take them because I am scared I will be sick from them. I am going to try to eat a bowl of cereal before I go to bed and then take them. I have never been able to take "big people" vitamins, so really nervous! I will let you know how that goes:)

So, I am thinking we will register at Target, and the Baby Depot in Burlington. I wanted to do Babies R Us, but I don't think three places are needed and Target and Baby Depot are within 10 miles of my house! What do you think?

We got your storm in Nashville! My parents called me to tell me how bad it was in Louisville and that it was heading our way :)

i found taking my prenatal vitamin in the morning was always BAD! definitely take it later in the day and with food!

babies do fit those diapers, aren't they adorable?

if you register at toys R us as well you get a free giftie (everywhere you register gives you free gifties). If you register at Nestle for baby formula now they will send you a free diaper bag! Most formula brands will send you something for free and you can register online.

so glad your doc appt went well. i thought of you when i saw Louisville on the news! hope you're ok!

Aren't those diapers so cute??

We registered at Target and Babies R Us. I think Target used to have a thing where if you bought stuff off your registry that no one bought for you, you get a certain % off. i don't know though, you'll have to ask. i think 2 registries are good tho.

my advice, don't worry about registering for too many actual clothes. people will buy you clothes no matter what b/c, well, buying kids clothes is so fun!!! if there is something specific you want, then put it on there, but people will buy clothes no matter what!!!

yay!! so excited for ya!!! :) love ya!

First doctor's visit, huh? Always an interesting one. Sounds like you got alot of good info from the doc and from the previous comments.

Sorry to hear about the storms. Has the river in your backyard receded?

You mentioned not wanting to take your flower pic from your wedding out of the frame yet. Do you have a scanner or good color copier? If so, just duplicate it and use that. Even if the quality isn't perfect it will be a good fill-in until you are ready to put the "real" photo on the page. Something tells me your house will be filled with baby pics before you know it! :)

Yea, the weather is scary stuff- a river in your yard, omg-
You can never go wrong with Target! Register at all of them, what the hell! Variety is the spice of life right! hugs, xOxO

1. It's WAY fun
2. You NEVER know where people are going to shop
3. People think Target and Walmart are cheaper than Babies R Us (even though they are sometimes MORE expensive) so they automatically go there.

I'm so jealous I NEVER got an awesome package of stuff like that when I was PG NOT FAIR!

Take your Vites at night after you eat or before bed you'll prob be less likely to get sick from them. SOmeone gave me that piece of wisdom (ha ha) and it worked 100% for me.
